Love Is Making Its Way Back Home

by Jillian Douglas

A fabulous, fabulous song by Josh Ritter set to an even more fabulous music video… made with over 12,000 pieces of construction paper. You must watch (and hear)!

“Love is Making Its Way Back Home” is a single off of Ritter’s new album, Bringing in the Darlings, which came out yesterday. In addition to this, he set up an Etsy shop featuring screenprint posters of frames from the video!

I can’t wait to hear more of Ritter’s new album… I bet the indie world is giddy about this one!

P.S. I will be sharing my obsession with one of these artists as soon as I get a chance, but this amazing little collaboration can’t wait until I have that moment.

I’m so, so excited to share this with you! One of my favorite musicians, Priscilla Ahn, has put together a collaboration with Charlie Wadhams for Valentine’s Day called the Sweethearts EP. And it’s free! I’m listening to it right now and it’s so soft, pretty, and full of lovely ideas and harmonies.

If you don’t check it out I will probably be found in a corner crying on your behalf.

They even put one of the songs, Dear Sweetheart, to retro home videos of Charlie Wadham’s own grandparents.

There’s just something about old-school recordings that makes me sentimental.

…Wasn’t that just gorgeous?

So seriously, download this and be happy for the rest of your life.

Coconut Records

by Jillian Douglas

If there is anything Ashley and I frequently disagree on, it’s music. You might have read about it here. It’s a constant struggle between the preppy pop (Ashley) and the weird alternative (me). The few artists we both admire are held sacred in the JJ&Good Treasury of Good Music. They are quite rare.

In saying that, I have no idea how she’s going to react to this gem of musical bliss I found on the interwebs today: Jason Schwartzman’s personal project, Coconut Records.

Coconut Records

Who’s that guy, you ask? He starred as Gideon in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World and Ash in Fantastic Mr. Fox, two of my favorite movies (ohmygosh, they’resogood;stopwhatyou’redoingandwatchthemrightnow). He’s pretty famous. You should google him).

Coconut Records’ music is eclectic but mostly technopop with obscure lyrics that don’t always make sense (as is with every other indie band. hehe). His videos are even better… check this one out!

Tee hee. I love it. I love it so much.

So be on the look out for Coconut Records’ new album Davy, in stores January 20th!

Yay for indie music!

Them There Eyes

by adandelionchild

I dare you not to dance. I DARE YOU.

Also, this song instantly felt like a perfect Meg Ryan rom-com soundtrack piece. Am I right? It’s just got that feeling, like you can picture her walking down some sunny street or sipping coffee and dancing with herself in her kitchen to this song.
